Download Facebook Videos on Your Phone

Downloading Facebook videos on your phone

Most people browse Facebook on their phone. And most of the time, when you see a video you want to save, you are on your phone. So it makes sense to know how to download Facebook videos right from your mobile device without needing to switch to a computer.

There are two ways to do it. You can use the FSaver website in your phone's browser, or you can use a dedicated app. The app is faster and easier, especially if you download videos regularly. Let me walk through both options.

Option 1: Use FSaver in your browser

This works on any phone, Android or iPhone. No app needed.

Step 1: Copy the video link

Open the Facebook app. Find the video you want to download. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post and tap "Copy link."

Step 2: Open FSaver

Switch to your browser (Chrome, Safari, whatever you use) and go to FSaver.net. Paste the link into the text field and tap Download.

Step 3: Save the video

FSaver will show you quality options. Tap the download button next to the one you want. The video downloads to your phone.

On Android, you will find it in your Downloads folder. On iPhone, it goes to your Files app. From the Files app, you can tap the share icon and select "Save Video" to move it to your camera roll if you want it there.

Option 2: Use the app (recommended)

The browser method works, but the app method is better. Here is why: with the app, you do not need to copy and paste links. You can share a video directly from the Facebook app into the downloader, and it starts saving immediately. Way less friction.

For iPhone and iPad: FSaver

FSaver on the App Store is built specifically for downloading Facebook videos on iOS. Here is how it works:

  • Open the Facebook app and find the video you want
  • Tap the Share button on the post
  • Select FSaver from the share menu
  • The video downloads automatically

Downloaded videos are saved in the app and in your Files app. You can export them to your camera roll, share them in messages, or just keep them in the app for later. The app also lets you paste links manually if you prefer that workflow.

FSaver works with regular Facebook videos, Reels, and Stories. It supports HD downloads and the interface is simple. No accounts, no subscriptions.

For Android: VDFR

VDFR on Google Play is the Android counterpart. Same idea, different platform. The workflow is almost identical:

  • Open Facebook and find the video
  • Tap Share on the post
  • Select VDFR
  • The video downloads to your phone

VDFR saves videos directly to your phone's storage where you can access them from your gallery app or file manager. Like FSaver on iOS, it handles regular videos, Reels, and Stories. You can also paste links into the app if you copy them from a browser.

Which method should you use?

If you only download a video from Facebook once in a while, the browser method is fine. You do not need to install anything and it gets the job done.

But if you save Facebook videos more than occasionally, the app is worth installing. The share-to-download flow is noticeably faster and less annoying than switching between apps to copy and paste links. I would say if you have downloaded more than three videos this month, just get the app.

Tips for mobile downloads

A few things that are useful to know when downloading on your phone.

Wi-Fi is your friend. Video files can be anywhere from 5 MB to 50 MB depending on quality and length. If you are on mobile data with a limited plan, downloads can eat into your allowance quickly. Switch to Wi-Fi when you can.

Storage matters. If your phone is almost full, you might run into issues. Videos take up space, and if you are downloading a bunch of them, it adds up. Check your available storage before going on a download spree.

HD vs SD is worth thinking about on mobile. On a phone screen, the difference between 720p and 1080p is honestly pretty small. If you are not planning to watch the video on a bigger screen later, SD saves space and downloads faster. But if you might want to share it or play it on a TV at some point, go with HD.

What if the download does not work?

The most common issue on phones is copying the wrong link. The Facebook app sometimes gives you a link to the person's profile instead of the specific post. Make sure you are tapping "Copy link" on the actual post with the video, not on the user's name or profile picture.

Another issue on iPhones specifically: Safari might ask you to confirm the download. If you see a popup asking whether you want to download the file, just tap Download or Allow.
